Learn the Emotional Guidance Scale.
The problem that many people have when trying to get out of a negative state, is that they try to shift from one end of the spectrum (fear, anxiety or depression) to a much higher end of the spectrum (joy and enthusiasm). This is simply not possible - one must make small steps, from one state to another, gradually. Learn how in this 5 minute video.
Now that you understand how to properly advance from one emotional state to another, you can put it into practice. Using the forms below, start wherever you are currently, and work your way up the scale by writing in a short sentence. Try to work your way up to the highest emotion possible. If you have trouble getting past a certain point, the next step will help.
